Penelope và Kilo ngưỡng mộ mẹ của họ và luôn cố gắng chiếm càng nhiều sự chú ý của bà càng tốt. Cả hai đều có tính cách lớn và sẽ luôn để cho cảm xúc của họ được biết đến, cả tốt và xấu.
“Penelope là một cô gái rất yêu thương và vô cùng thiếu thốn khi nói đến tình yêu của mẹ,” Autumn McIntyre, mẹ của cặp đôi, nói với The Dodo. “Cô ấy sẽ làm bất cứ điều gì để tôi chú ý. Kilo là tất cả các snuggles! Nếu bạn đang nằm trên đi văng, anh ấy cũng vậy, ngay trên đầu bạn. Anh ấy rất có giọng hát ở bất kỳ thời điểm nào, không có lý do, anh ấy chỉ thích hát.
When McIntyre found out she was pregnant, she had no idea how her cats would react — and they seemed to know right away that something was different.
“I noticed around my 10-week mark [that] they actually both became much more cuddly,” McIntyre said. “Penelope was never much of a snuggler until we were expecting, so I honestly think they can sense their little sister in there!”
McIntyre’s cats mean so much to her, so when she and her husband were contemplating how to tell the world they were expecting, they knew they wanted the cats to be included.
“My cats were my babies first, so I had to incorporate them into the announcement,” McIntyre said.
They decided to do a little photo shoot with the cats in front of a sign that said “You’re what?!” and a few other props to let people know there was a baby on the way. The cats had initially seemed excited about the pregnancy — but when it came time to share that excitement with the world, they had other thoughts entirely.
In the photos, the cats full-on look like they’re throwing a tantrum when finding out about their new baby sister. It’s such a funny pregnancy announcement, and the couple is thrilled with the results of the very chaotic photo shoot.
“The photos came out better than expected, honestly,” McIntyre said.
In reality, Penelope and Kilo are going to be the best big siblings to their new human sister — it just may take a little time to get used to the idea.
