This puppy escaped from an illegal mᴇat farm in Bali and got help finding a home
The sad story of the little dog Mo has a happy ending, but until reaching it it was a journey of suffering and horror, but also of resilience and strength:
victim of the illegal dog meat market that still operates in Bali , Indonesia, the dog was found barely alive in a gutter, starving and with her muzzle tied.
Her overall condition was chronic, but the biggest veterinary challenge was the effect of the tape that tightly tied her muzzle , cutting off circulation and causing the meat on the front of her muzzle to almost die.
Mo was found with her snout tied in a gutter
The starvation condition almost led the dog to death
Mo is believed to have run away from the dog meat farm or the cart that kidnaps animals for slaughter, and after being found, the dog had to immediately go into emergency veterinary surgery .
Her muzzle was carefully sutured with skin grafts, in a procedure that Mo might not have survived, such was the severity of her condition . Rehabilitation was slow, but she not only survived,
but gradually gained weight, spirits, blood circulation returned to normal, as well as the sensitivity in her muzzle – and thus her personality and joy also returned. Mo’s emergency surgery was a success
The dog quickly regained circulation and weight.
Gradually, Mo’s cheerful and affectionate personality began to blossom again – especially when she got a new home : according to the human couple who now take care of the dog, on the first night she slept for 10 hours straight in their bed.
Now she lives surrounded by her canine “little brothers”, with water, food and love in a house with a garden and lots of affection – and fully recovered from the horror she faced, as told by the website Bored Panda .
The NGO’s work
The happy ending of Mo’s story was only possible due to the exemplary work of the international NGO Mission Paws’ible , which rescues , rehabilitates and saves the lives of animals,
also finding homes and support for the kittens, without profit in exchange – all money raised by the NGO is destined for the animals.

The first thing he did in his new home was sleep for 10 hours, they say.
“We create real opportunities for animals in need through rescue, rehabilitation , introduction to a new home, education, activation, as well as medical and financial support for rescuers,” says the text on the institution’s website.
His new home has a garden and the affection of humans and other dogs.
Despite the cruelty, the animal’s joy recovered
